I Know What You Did Last Summer… and Carolyn Bessette
I Know What You Did Last Summer came out in 1997, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr, and Ryan Phillippe, four major names in pop culture for Gen X and early Millennials. And it was a hit. So now there’s a 2025 version which brings back Jennifer as Julie James and Freddie as Ray Bronson and last night was the premiere.
Freddie and Sarah showed up together, they met while working on the original but only went on their first date three years later in 2000. And then in 2002, they got married. Are still married, one of the most enduring celebrity marriages in the business. Here they are in the first year of their relationship…

And here they are last night.

A couple no one can complain about.
As for the new movie, first reactions have been solid and Jennifer Love Hewitt is teasing something about the end credits, and sticking around. Here she is on the carpet talking about her iconic line from the movie, “What are you waiting for, huh?”
People are now speculating that maybe it’s … Brandy? The movie opens on Friday, will be interesting to see how it performs, with the combination of nostalgia and the new jacks.
Here’s JLove with the Gen Z cast including Madeline Cline, Chase Sui Wonders (who has been having a YEAR with The Studio and now this), Gabbriette, and director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Also… Sarah Pidgeon! Enjoy the photo and meet you on the other side.

Sarah, of course, has been in New York the last few weeks working on Ryan Murphy’s Love Story about John F Kennedy Jr and Carolyn Bessette, in the role of Carolyn – and we’re all aware of the controversy over the styling and the hair etc etc.
But look at her style and hair at this premiere, which has nothing to do with Love Story. She looks SO good. And it’s giving so much more Carolyn than any of the footage we’ve seen from production on the series. Right? Like I understand, based on these pictures of her last night, why she was cast – more than anything they showed us in the screen tests!
