Only Murders in the Building has wrapped for another season and Selena Gomez is emotional (understandable). The good news is they still have the press tour and the network should splash out them, they’ve more than earned it.

Side note: how can Martin Short make me laugh just by putting his hands on his hips? Is it because I’m Canadian?

In a new conversation with SZA for Interview, Chapell Roan said she cries over personal criticism. That’s an understandable reaction to dealing with so much attention, even when that attention is wanted. She’s also in her first act of fame, which is when artists make a lot of bold, maybe off-the-cuff statements that they quickly learn don’t serve them in the long run. Back to the interview: SZA said she would be happy to talk about socks for 40 minutes, and I would love to read her thoughts. Socks are everything. And she’s wearing socks on the cover! Great styling choice.

Hailee Steinfeld has had a big year between Sinners and getting married. She works on pretty high-profile projects and is famous but is not too outside. I don’t know when I last saw a paparazzi picture of her. I had to look up her age, I truly don’t know one thing about her outside of her work. This is a compliment.

The Valley is definitely not a feel-good reality TV show, it’s not uplifting. But I do think a lot of the criticism about it being “too dark” is misplaced – networks that specialize in centering reality TV around children are more insidious. The Valley is full of grown-ups dealing with grown-up problems and this is one show where you can say they know exactly what they are signing up for; there are no babes in the woods.

But should people like Jax Taylor be given a platform? That’s what this new story by Variety’s Kate Authur asks.

Blake Lively has been posting through it, as the kids say. She has been quite active on social media recently, constantly posting stories and comments and I think I understand why. While some might say why isn’t she laying low until the trial, I can understand the “f-ck you, why should I lay low?” mentality. She’s not hiding and we should examine why people want her to hide. I’ve been keeping an eye on her brands and she posts about all three and just hosted an event for Betty Booze. But Blake Brown doesn’t post her at all, and I wonder if there’s some friction with the investors (like the majority of celebrity brands, it’s not self-funded). Blake Brown recently launched fragrances and the company posted about it with a hashtag of her name, but no tag. It’s odd.
