Simu Liu hands out MìLà dumpling samples at Costco

Simu Liu was at Costco handing out dumpling samples for MìLà (蜜辣), a company he has invested in. On a good day, getting a sample from Costco is a blood sport so I can imagine it got pretty chaotic.

I want to try these, I love soup dumplings but don’t feel like I’ve found my go-to brand yet. If you have a favourite, tell me.

There’s a lot of surprise over who attended Kris Jenner’s birthday party and a lot of fandom gymnastics happening, justifying it every which way. Here’s my lukewarm take: there is not a person in that room who needed to be there for their career or for networking. That list was tight AF and anyone who attended has made it to the top in their respective field. Each and every guest attended because they wanted to be there. Period. Dot. End of sentence. Class solidarity is a very powerful thing. Here’s Kris with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards, her daughter Farah and the morally corrupt Faye Resnick. Kyle, Faye and Kris are longtime friends.

Dua Lipa has launched a skin care collaboration with Augustinus Bader Science. This brand is verrrrryyyyyy expensive and pretty exclusive with their collabs (I have the Victoria Beckham x AB foundation drops, outrageously expensive and unfortunately as smooth and luxurious as I’d expect). This line is direct-to-consumer and a face wash is $58, all the way up to a Supercharge Glow Complex for $118.

My guess is this is to target younger millennials and I won’t bet against it, but this is investment skin care that would require a lot of faith from the user. Compare it to other brands that started as DTC (like Rhode and The Outset) and the price difference is significant.

The Daily Mail posted about the Beckham rift and how Brooklyn and Nicola feel it can be healed by a public apology from David and Victoria. This is so delulu that I don’t think it could possibly be real – in what world does a family release a public statement to apologize to one another? I have to give Brooklyn and Nicola the benefit of the doubt over the Daily Mail in this scenario because it would make them look awful. I also think Brooklyn and Nicola are maybe feeling the heat a bit now – they weren’t invited to Selena Gomez’s wedding and it doesn’t seem like they were at Kris Jenner’s birthday. They are looking for a social win.
