It's the season of the Fair Isle sweater, a sweater that will never, ever go out of style. Or should never, ever go out of style. I love it.

The Fair Isle sweater I love the most this season is this is one, Altuzarra. At least one a piece I pine over it.

You know what makes it perfect? The neck. There are other Fair Isle sweaters with a similar colour combination, like this one at Everlane, but it’s a crew neck. The Altuzarra neck is what makes it special. It’s not a fold-over turtle, it’s not a slouch turtle, it’s almost an extended mock, sits straight but gives such great shape.

Sydney Sweeney’s Fair Isle sweater is also very good. But in my opinion not quite as good as my beloved. I don’t know exactly which one hers is but Veronica Beard has one that is very close to it. (Go Fug Yourself)

Daddy Yankee’s divorce is messy AF. He’s accusing his estranged wife Mireddys González of withdrawing something like $80 million from his account without his authorisation…which… did anyone’s mind just go to the epic bank scene in Ghost when Whoopi aka Oda Mae Brown aka Rita Miller goes to the bank to take out all the money that Carl needed to pay back whoever it was that was chasing him? That scene will never not be hysterical to me. Now I’m imaging Mireddys going to the bank like Oda Mae Rita Miller and dumping her purse all over some man’s desk which probably is not how it went at all because everyone is online but still, seriously, $80 million?! The first trailer for James Gunn’s Superman will drop tomorrow, Sarah will be writing it. The anticipation has been building all week and as Andrew Sanford writes in Pajiba, there are people who are even jacked up over the music. And what the score will sound like. I’m not a Superman nerd, I know the Christopher Reeve movies, of course, but I’m not fanatical about them so when Andrew was talking about the theme song, in my head, the music that popped up that I thought might have been the Superman theme but actually… Dynasty, LOLOLOL. I think that sums up the DNA of my pop culture brain. (Pajiba)

Sarah wrote a few weeks ago about Clint Eastwood’s latest film, Juror #2 and how Warner Bros was dicking him around. How insulting that is to one of Hollywood’s reliable greats. And what studio executives could actually learn from this particular filmmaker. In his new piece for The Ringer, Miles Surrey points out that in 2024, for “Old Masters of Hollywood” flexed their ongoing relevance. And as an old bitch myself, I appreciate that Miles is out here cautioning against TikTok filmmaking. I mean he didn’t say that, exactly, but this is my takeaway. (The Ringer)

Ummmm… Nick Jonas, are you OK? (Celebitchy)

My latest newsletter at The Squawk, posted today, is about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Polo, and why the show doesn’t work. (The Squawk)
