Ted Lasso continues its win streak, with Jason Sudekeis winning his second SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, and this year, the whole cast triumphed by winning Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Because they’re currently shooting season three in London, most of the cast was at an outpost site in London (Juno Temple was present in Santa Monica for the live show). When he won, they handed Sudeikis the SAG trophy. Since they had a trophy on hand, did he know he was going to win? Or was this like a situation where if he lost, it would be taken away? I would like to know the logistics of these remote award show presentations.

Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple lost to Jean Smart, though, in Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series. I won’t call it an upset because Jean Smart is JEAN SMART, and she’s already won an Emmy for Hacks, the show for which she won last night. The SAGs don’t delineate between lead and supporting acting, which put Emmy supporting actress winner Waddingham and nominee Temple directly up against the unstoppable powerhouse of Jean Smart. Ted Lasso may reign, but it will have to bow occasionally to Queen Jean.
