Teyana, Aaron, plus Leo appreciation

The hottest couple on the planet, Teyana Taylor and Aaron Pierre, walked their first red carpet together last night in London at the premiere of One Battle After Another. They’ve been together for months now, we see them together often enough, so this isn’t a hard launch, obviously, but the timing is notable because of where it happens. 

Aaron was born in London, this is his hometown, but it’s his lady’s movie premiere. So he’s supporting her where he’s from. And he made that clear.

I’m already a puddle from the heat they both generate just by, well, looking at them. And here he is dropping soundbites being all about her and, well, it’s almost too much but give me more but also she is enough on her own too. This outfit… and the way she works it in this outfit, Oh.My.God.

And there will be more. One Battle After Another is expected to contend during award season. It’s Paul Thomas Anderson directing multiple Oscar winners in a politically charged story about white supremacy and immigration. There’s almost no way this film won’t be in the conversation. So we’re getting a lot of Teyana for the next several months, we just might see Teyana Taylor on the Oscars red carpet for the very first time. 

One Battle After Another opens next Friday 26 September, not usually a great time at the box office. So I’m interested in how well this film will perform. They’ve definitely had help with the marketing – did you note that Beyoncé’s “Freedom” has been used in the trailer and promos? 

They’re using the song all over the place. Even in this video of Teyana and Aaron that’s on the official IG account stanning their relationship, LOL. 

But also, in a bit of non-Beyoncé related marketing, they posted this video of Chase Infiniti, who plays Leo’s daughter in the film, doing her Gen Z thing with Leo in full dad mode. 

First of all, that’s how big The Summer I Turned Pretty is that WB and second…I am never Leonardo DiCaprio’s biggest fan, but I like this Leo. He actually looks better than he has in a while, whoever coloured his hair did a great job. But the energy works too and I think Brad Pitt has a lot to do with it. We saw Brad just a few months ago doing too much to seem younger and while sure, Leo will remain a party boy for life and not age up his girlfriends, he’s not out here on this press tour fronting like he’s Chase’s contemporary. Or even like a big brother. He played her dad and he’s giving dad during promotion. Look at him in this video, among the other two dads letting the two women have their moment and staying in the background where he belongs.
