Before we begin blogging the Met Gala and the photos...

It’s the Met Gala. So... there’s some license here on the edge if you want it. Drama is good. Weird could be good too. Remember it’s not the Oscars and Los Angeles. It’s New York. And these are Fashion People. And they get it. Or at least they should. So if you want to try something different, this is the audience that would be most receptive to it. Consider also that this year was a Tribute to Alexander McQueen. You know that Lee McQueen frequently collaborated with Lady Gaga, right? I’m just saying, when you look at dresses from the Met Gala carpet, you kinda modify your eye, allow for what this event really is. When in doubt, think of Andre Leon Talley:

Purple cape-robe. Rather sedate tuxedo. And tricked out red shoes.

No one there thought it was out of the ordinary at all.
