I posted the other day about Bella Hadid, her presence at Paris Fashion Week, and her highly anticipated return to the runway after she was seen leaving the Valentino showroom ahead of Alessandro Michele’s debut.

But first it’s Saint Laurent. Bella is back, in menswear inspired by Yves Saint Laurent himself as Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent’s creative director, said that so much of the new collection is based on YSL’s personal silhouette, how he dressed himself. The suits with big shoulders, the glasses, the father of the house is here in these pieces. It’s giving big 80s, all of it, not just with the jackets and trousers but also in the skirts and dresses.

As usual, there was a heavy celebrity presence at the show and I’ll start with the 90s stars because the 90s are on my mind. My latest newsletter at The Squawk is all about how fashion and celebrity gossip became inextricable in the 90s, how foundational that decade is in how we engage pop culture. So having just spent the last couple of days working on that essay, the 90s are top of mind more than usual right now.

Of course there is no 90s fashion with Kate Moss and the other supers. She was at Saint Laurent yesterday along with Linda Evangelista. Both of them appear in the new docuseries In Vogue: The 90s which was the basis for my piece.

Also Gwyneth Paltrow. She’s in the doc too because – ugh – as much as we hate to admit it, she was one of the defining stars of the 90s, which was a defining decade in fashion and celebrity.

If we’re talking about 90s icons in suits though, who looks better in a suit than Lenny Kravitz, COME ON!

Both Kravitz’s were there last night because Zoë is a Saint Laurent ambassador and… I mean… she is spectacular in this teeny lacy dress but it’s not the dress that’s captivating me, it’s her face, as usual.

And finally, two favourites to round out this post. Rosé is also a Saint Laurent ambassador and probably the ambassador who generates the most social media interest considering the worldwide popularity of BLACKPINK. Of course I’m a fan…but not of these curls.

And… my beloved Rina Sawayama, always a baddie. And giving us some of her John Wick energy with the black leather trench over the sheer bodysuit - see those shots in the gallery below. Rina was also at Milan Fashion week this past weekend and her Gucci outfit was the celebrity standout.
