Lindsay Lohan stepped out in New York for a fashion week event and in a Sliding Doors universe, she would have at this point in her life been one to watch for her style, whatever the occasion. I know there are people out there who are still obsessed with her, and I work with one of them, but even he would agree that our minds don’t go to her when we think of whose look we’re waiting on at a red carpet. And maybe she doesn’t want to be that. There was a time when she did. But it seems like she’s let that go. Or, maybe, like so many child stars, where her style preferences are, she’s stuck in the era when she broke out. This black dress on her is fine but it’s definitely not memorable. (GoFugYourself)

Speaking of the Lindsay Lohan big fame era, that was also when Rachel Zoe was introduced to a generation and became one of the first if not the first household name stylists. Rachel’s taste basically defined the look of an entire generation but for more than a decade now she hasn’t much been part of the conversation. The latest news is that she’s getting a divorce. The only person I know who might care about this as a gossip story is Maria. (Pajiba)

Because of TIFF, I’m a bit late on this story but we have to talk about Shōgun and all its wins at the Creative Arts Emmys – it’s a record! And this is exciting! But… umm… I don’t want to sound like a grumpy bitch but my worry is that they’ll give the series the technical awards but when it comes to the awards presented on broadcast night, which is Sunday, well, you know where I’m going with this thought. The Oscars kinda sorta works like this. Some films, usually the most commercial successful ones, will get all the wins in the tech categories but not in what many consider to be the major prestige ones. (The Mary Sue)

Prince Harry’s Netflix docuseries about polo is premiering in December. A good time to hunker down on the couch and binge a show about rich people and their horse sport. I’ve already talked about my hopes for this show – which is that it’ll be like Drive to Survive. Give us the rich horse people gossip, there’s so much of it! Not really Harry’s thing, I know, so I’m curious to see what the tone will be. (Celebitchy)

But right now I am very ready to dig into the beef between former friends Ice Spice and Cleopatra and this piece written by Giana Levy. Rap beefs are nothing new, and rap queens beefing is nothing new. But they were close and now they’re not and there are accusations flying back and forth. And receipts being dropped. And since these artists are now very online, they can’t help themselves with how much they’re fueling it. (Refinery 29)
