JLo’s Budget Flight

Jennifer Lopez was in Paris yesterday for the Dior show and around the same time she was making headlines because photos of her flying commercial and seated in economy from Naples to Paris. You can see the pictures at TMZ. 

As we know, JLo is not an economy class girl, so this story would have been a story in ordinary times, but it’s even more of a story now because of the speculation that the Bennifer divorce is imminent and they’re selling their home and she cancelled her tour and people are all like… is JLo broke?!

This is absurd. And I take issue with it because it’s bad gossip and gossip is my business and when gossip is bad it’s bad for business!

First of all, even if JLo was experiencing financial issues, a business class fare would still not be a problem – are you kidding me?! Business class seats are expensive for regular degular schmegulars, no doubt. But the cost of a business class seat for people in JLo’s bracket is negligible. This is someone who regularly flies private, you think a f-cking business class ticket on a two hour flight would be an issue for her?! Stop this stupidity. 

Focusing on the money is not the gossip. The timing is the gossip. It’s more likely that she was flying in economy because there were no seats left in business. And it’s more likely that she was flying commercial because there were no private jets available. Last year it was reported that PJ travel in Europe for short haul flights was at a record high and that surge has continued this year. It’s summertime, all the rich ass people are going to Italy and Spain and Greece and wherever for yacht season and the PJ bookings are overloaded. 

JLo clearly had to get to Paris on a schedule and apparently the only option was to go commercial. Which tells us that her trip may have not been planned with that much advance notice. Because celebrities like JLo are pretty meticulous about their calendars, with assistants and business managers mapping out accommodations and other booking requirements. The fact that she was in Italy and then Paris without a prepared itinerary that included a PJ or at least a business class seat tells us that she may have been hitting the escape button at the last-ish minute when she decided to go on this holiday. THAT is the gossip. Amid the mess of whatever remains of her marriage, she was like… let’s pack it up, impromptu trip to Italy, I need to get away, clear my head, reclaim my glow, and not be anywhere near this man and all his discomfort and doubts and indecision. And she probably paid for some of the people with her to take off with her too – so how’s that for being poor? 

On top of that, she just posted to the grid on Instagram after a THREE WEEK break. That’s a long time for JLo on the main page. 

The bigger question then, and not this silliness about money, is whether or not she’s found her groove back on this little “voyage”, and whether or not that groove is a bounce out of this marriage. Remember, she’s Teflon, she has one of the best “get over it” muscles in the business.
