Dear Gossips,   

There was a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest in New York yesterday in Washington Square Park. Several hundred people were in attendance after the event was promoted on flyers posted all over the city. They were competing for a prize of $50, LOOOOLLLLL. 

 

And, as you’ve probably heard, Timmy showed up.

And the memes, of course. Of course the memes. 

 

I should mention that over $5000 was also raised for charity. So even though the cops came and busted up the festivities (lack of permit), nobody loses here, there is no downside to this kind of fun.

 

In New York, especially, considering what else was going on in the city yesterday, it was much more wholesome to be here. With these people. 

 

As the kids say, Timmy is a legend for this. Basically this tweet, exactly: 

How’s Club Chalamet? Anyone check on her? It’s not like her devotion has ever wavered but there’s been some talk over at our Substack, The Squawk, about whether or not Timmy will succumb to the Kurse. And, well, the answer is no, not if he keeps doing sh-t like this. 

 

Back to the lookalike thing though – I live in a neighbourhood with a lot of schools. Every three blocks there’s a school, which means that our community is full of teens and young adults. I see them every day walking to school, walking home from school, at the bus stop…and my point is – a LOT of them look like Timothée Chalamet! It’s either Timmy or Joe Locke, aka Charlie from Heartstopper. One day last week, Jacek and I pulled up at an intersection beside a group of boys and he didn’t notice that the light had changed because he was too busy laughing that all of them, and there were five, had that mushroom hairstyle. Didn’t matter the hair texture, they wore their hair in that cut. I also know a parent of a teen boy, 15, who wanted to go so far as to perm his hair to achieve that wavy/curl. The lookalikes are everywhere. So I wonder if these contests are going to start popping up locally. Coming soon to a park near you!
