We can disagree about movies and TV shows, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, Drake and Kendrick, Taylor Swift’s footwear, Ed Sheeran’s music… but you know what brings us all together?
Zendaya and Tom Holland.
I know they bring the internet together. All they have to do is walk the dog and they go viral. And it’s a good viral, happy viral, nobody has to fight about it viral. This time it’s a family gathering, and it’s very viral. For a number of reasons.
First… the fact that her family calls him Spider-Man, LOOOOLLLLL. These stories were shared on IG by one of Zendaya’s relatives and throughout the various scenes there’s no mention of anyone called “Tom”. It’s only Spider-Man. Spider-Man holding babies. Spider-Man hanging out with the aunties. Spider-Man hovering on the dance floor. Spider-Man filming his beloved…
He is fully integrated into her community. He looks very comfortable, and happy. More comfortable and happy than we ever see him in public since, as we know, he’s had to set boundaries with his fame. But here, it’s not like he doesn’t know he’s being filmed (it’s quite obvious) but he also, presumably, feels safe with the people who are filming him, because these people will be his family now too. Sob!
It’s so sweet and wholesome and this is how they turn us into fools. Who? Me and Kathleen. This was our text thread this morning:
Me: Did you see the video of Tom with Zendaya’s family and they call him spider man lol
K: LOL Obviously. I’m obsessed
Me: Protect them I love them so much
K: They will be together forever. If there’s one thing I know for sure it’s that.
Me: He loves her so much
K: Soooooo much. I think she is also down bad but he is in awe as he should be!
Me: Oh she can’t with him. But they are two dorks in love. That’s the truth.
K: My dorks!! That’s exactly it
Why am I sharing evidence of our own dorkiness?! No shame! If you’re out there being as dorky as we are, just know, we’re all dorking together. Us and them, Zendaya and Tom. Now put up your shields and let’s maintain a force field around them so that they remain guarded against any mess or threats. Do it for love and do it for gossip.
