Travis Kelce was seen in New York City back in April working on a Tommy Hilfiger campaign at the Plaza Hotel in New York. The campaign has now launched and he is not the main character, the clothes are not the main character, the wedding is not the main character, and not even Travis’s wife is the main character…

It’s the puppy. We’ve been talking about the puppy for months and the puppy has finally made her debut, she is the star of this commercial because she was born as a star – this is, truly, the Showgirl of the family.

Since it was revealed that Taylor and Travis have a dog in the family, there’s been so much speculation about her name. One of the fan theories was that she was named after a character in Travis’s favourite movie, The Sandlot: Wendy Peffercorn. And indeed… it would seem… she’s Wendy. What’s fitting though, considering that she’s a member of the Kelce-Swift family, is that there are some PR shenanigans happening with her name reveal.

To promote the brand, Travis and Wendy are featured in the new issue of American Vogue. You will note, however, that in the Vogue article, it very clearly states that the dog’s name has not been made public even though she was part of the interview, when Travis explains how she ended up in the campaign.

Forbes, however, also published a piece about Travis’s Tommy Hilfiger launch, reported by Jeff Fetodin, a journalist who covers Kansas City’s NFL team. This is a critical detail because Jeff would be known among the players on Travis’s team, and known by Travis himself. He would have access to information that he may or may not disclose in his coverage. And in the initial piece that showed up on the Forbes website about Travis x Tommy Hilfiger, the dog was referred to as Wendy. But an updated version of that article now, Wendy’s name has been removed. But screenshots are forever.

Forbes, evidently, was not supposed to share Wendy’s name. And Forbes also evidently got a call, perhaps from Tree Paine, to remove the name immediately… not that it worked. But I guess they don’t want a record of it out there, even though, screenshots are forever.

I know Taylor’s always all about being in full total control of everything, and this is how she and Travis decided to introduce their new baby to the world, with her own ad campaign, while still holding her name back, but it seems kinda counterintuitive to have her make her debut and still be nameless. Taylor should know herself – a Showgirl will never remain in the shadows, a Showgirl must be credited by her Showgirl name. And Wendy is the #1 Showgirl in the family!
