The TNT Puppy?

Forget the wedding, the most exciting TNT development of the year is that they have a dog, confirming what Swifties have been speculating about for months. Apparently, back in March, Taylor Swift was seen in the car with a white dog and then, from leaked footage of the wedding at Madison Square Garden last week, there was a photo from their personal and private collection of Taylor and Travis Kelce on display.

This past weekend, TNT were in California for JuJu Smith-Schuster and Laura Kruk’s wedding and then on Sunday Travis was seen arriving on a private jet in Florida with a furry white dog, and this is my parasocial trigger…

I want to know everything about this precious baby. Because up until now, Taylor Swift has been known to be a cat person. Everyone knows that she loves cats, has three cats, all of them named after fictional television and movie characters: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button.

She’s talked in the past about dogs but has said that with her travel schedule and touring, cats are more suited to her because of their independence, which is 100% true. Dogs are high maintenance AF, I live with two of them, everything revolves around them – meal times, bathroom times, exercise time. For an artist like Taylor, with a peripatetic lifestyle, especially when she’s touring, a dog might not be realistic.

But if there’s any time to raise a puppy, it would be now, since she’s made it clear that she’s nowhere near wanting to tour again, and now she has a partner who is actually a dog person.

So, back to the baby…

How does the naming work? Taylor’s cats were inspired by her interests but the dog is theirs, the name would likely have to mean something to both of them. Let’s play guess the name. My guess is based on pop culture references, like Grey’s Anatomy and Law & Order: SVU, a show, a movie, a play, etc.

And there’s a person who comes to mind, for me at least, immediately: Adam Sandler. After all, he married them. One of the connections here is that Adam and Travis starred in Happy Gilmore 2 so…

Gilmore?

I would be utterly charmed if I met a dog called Gilmore. And Gilmore could also work in connection with Gilmore Girls. Taylor is a known Gilmore Girls fan, and there’s definitely overlap between those two fandoms. The Venn diagram might even be two circles on top of one another.

So Gilmore is my first guess. And my second guess is also related to the Sandman:

Bobby Boucher!

Bobby Boucher works with the cat siblings as their proper names are first and last. But also, if memory serves, there’s lore here because I’m pretty sure Taylor has a song inspired by Bobby Kennedy so there’s a link to the name Bobby in her discography.

Also Bobby Boucher is a hilarious name for a dog.
