Uzo Aduba is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and I’m very happy for her, and pissed off at Netflix all over again. 

The cancellation makes no sense.

Does it feel like the Emmys are always happening? Of course the Emmys only happen once a year but it feels like we are in a continuous cycle of Emmy nominees, Emmy awards, Emmy winners. Maybe because TV is such a dominant media now? But with any award, the “best” is subjective. I find it hard to believe that Danny McBride has not ever been nominated as an actor or writer (only as a producer on a documentary). Does he not submit himself? The Righteous Gemstones got six nominations and none for acting. As I said, it’s subjective but also nonsensical. Judy Gemstone and Baby Billy Freeman are two of the greats.

Anna Camp wrote about her Emmy disappointment and works through her thoughts in the comments. She’s putting it into words but a lot of the time, actors are not so forthcoming with their feelings of disappointment and, in a way, rejection. You are being left out of the party. What’s also interesting is that there are some industry people in the comments talking openly about how other shows (like The White Lotus) got too many nominations (in their opinion). This is definitely taking the group chat to the comments.

There are a lot of headlines about Sydney Sweeney launching a lingerie line with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez. To break it down, Sydney is working with a VC group that the tacky twosome invest in, so it’s unlikely they will be collaborating that closely (although setting the deal up probably led to her wedding invite). This lingerie brand is already off to a bad start with the affiliation. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are the opposite of sex appeal. They are about as sexy as watching someone clip their toenails on a crowded bus in July. 

Amy Sedaris doesn’t have a guest room, she has an entire guest apartment. Her friends John Early and Cole Escola use it. Very chic. 

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were at a Red Sox game with the fam and a couple of days later, we get a PEOPLE story on how connected Jennifer and her boyfriend are. I see her game and I appreciate it because Ben Affleck is a charming motherf-cker. You cannot give that man an inch (especially with what we know about his very particular skill set). He seems like he needs a Jennifer by his side to be his best self and this is her way of saying, I am not that Jennifer.
