I know many of you are fans. So here’s Viggo Mortensen in Venice today at the film festival to promote The Road. The Road is also coming to TIFF. Yes…Viggo at TIFF.

The Road was actually supposed to be released last year in time for award season. They said it wasn’t ready and pushed it back. Of course there are always conspiracies when it comes to the Weinsteins. Some speculate they did not want attention to be diverted from The Reader’s Oscar campaign which, of course, ultimately resulted in a win for Kate Winslet.

Whatever the reasons, The Road, based on the bleakest book, like, ever, is now due on October 16th.

Here’s the trailer. Charlize is scheduled to be at TIFF too. Great. Can’t wait to look at her smug “I won an Oscar and don’t remember taking my clothes off at the beginning of my career” bitch face on the carpet.
