Jeremy Allen White poses hard
Jeremy Allen White was in New York yesterday for a photo shoot and it definitely wasn’t low-key. They had him blocked off by metal barricades in the middle of Times Square, presumably posing for a magazine ahead of the release of Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere which opens on October 24.
The styling here is Springsteen coded, with the white cutoff shirt to expose JAW’s ripped arms. My first thought, though, when I saw these pictures was James Dean. It’s the blue eyes and that hair – blonde, slicked, and quiffed. It’s this photo that really did it for me.

These shots, to me, are way hotter than his Calvin Kleins.
Given the release date, the subject matter, and the talent involved, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is on almost all early Oscar prediction lists, and Jeremy is being talked about as a contender. Timothée Chalamet was just nominated last year for his performance as Bob Dylan. These are the kinds of roles the Academy often rewards, maybe not with a win but with an invitation to the party.
Even though most of the anticipated contenders have yet to be screened, and again this is very early, it’s looking like a competitive year with high-profile directors and actors on the long list so far. In addition to Ryan Coogler and Sinners, Chloe Zhao, Yorgos Lanthimos, Joachim Trier, Noah Baumbach, Guillermo Del Toro, Luca Guadagnino, and Benny Safdie all have films coming out in the second half of 2025 that feature heavy hitters like George Clooney, Julia Roberts, The Rock, and more. So if Jeremy Allen White is going for that nomination, at least some hustling will be required.
But what’s also interesting is that many of the films expected to be in the Oscar conversation from the aforementioned directors are confirmed to be touring the fall film festival circuit, making their world premieres either in Venice or Toronto. Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere has yet to show up on any festival lists. Which very likely means it’ll be one of the biggest titles to screen at Telluride.
Telluride keeps its premieres a secret until the day before the festival starts. The assumption, then, is that with the absence of Deliver Me From Nowhere in Venice and at TIFF, Telluride was able to lock it in which, in terms of festival energy and spirit, is probably a good fit for the film.
End of the month then, August 29, Labour Day weekend, is when we should probably see Jeremy Allen White officially kicking off his campaign for Oscar for playing Bruce Springsteen.
