Katie & Josh: Weekend Body Language

Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson continued to film Happy Hours in New York this weekend and it’s been happy hour for us Xennials who’ve been waiting 25 years for this to happen but not really believing that it could happen. Even though it’s not really happening, at least not officially, at least not yet. But not never because we’ve made it this far! And they’re working together and playing a couple and pushing a baby stroller and holding hands…

So according to the OP above, that scene where Katie and Josh are hugging was not while the cameras were rolling, it was a moment of affection between the two of them, they were appreciating each other… which is the PG interpretation of whatever’s going on here. The more adult version is that they can’t wait to get home and keep touching each other. 

More noteworthy to me, though, is how quickly Katie drops Josh’s hand when they cut, almost like she’s self-conscious about all the people watching. They’re shooting in the park, after all. It’s a summer weekend, so many people are watching, gawking. And hoping for the real-life Joey and Pacey love story to extend from Dawson’s Creek to New York City. So there are two ways to psychoanalyse the behaviour: 

That she’s telling on herself because if there was actually nothing going on she wouldn't be so in her head about people thinking there’s something going on, or… 

There’s nothing going on and she doesn’t need to hold his hand for a second longer than necessary.
