Intro for July 7, 2026
Dear Gossips,
In 2019, BTS became the first South Korean act to sell out Wembley Stadium, one of London’s most iconic venues, in just over an hour. On June 2, 2019, during the second show, ARMY surprised RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, pulling off a secret plan to sing “Young Forever” back to them and bringing all seven members to tears.
I still cry when I watch this video – and I’ve watched it an embarrassing number of times, especially during COVID, which is when I relied on BTS the most through those confusing and scary and lonely times.
It’s well-known among the fandom, then, that London holds a special place for the band. V declared it last night, that it’s his favourite, after amusing ARMY with his English accent, during the first of two shows at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
🐯: london! how you feel london? cheers mate! cheers mate!

AND WHY TAEHYUNG BRITISH ALL OF A SUDDEN 😭 pic.twitter.com/wL8vBN1Sk3
If we’re talking about English accents and BTS, though, RM can always be relied on to put one on whenever he’s within throwing distance of a Brit or in Britain. ARMY is obviously well aware of this too, and it’s a running joke among the fans. But no matter the accent, BTS and ARMY have their own language – because Namjoon wasn’t just doing the accent to amuse the fans, he also referenced another observation that’s been making its way around ARMY circles, including on this site yesterday when I posted about how their tour stops have been aligning with the World Cup schedule.
And you know what is more sexier NAMJOON’S BRITISH ACCENT pic.twitter.com/FRPufm4pN0

Speaking of the World Cup, as mentioned yesterday, the final is on Sunday 19 July, one day after BTS’s second show in Paris. So they’ll likely make their way to the airport and get on the PJ on Saturday night and arrive presumably by 3am in New York, a mere 12 hours before the match starts. Not even sure how they’re figuring out rehearsals since they head to Germany after their two shows in England and then it’s off to France.
There’s no doubt that it’s possible and that they can pull it off, obviously. I’m just dying to know the logistics. Interestingly, speaking of logistics, the World Cup final is happening at Met Life Stadium which is also where BTS will resume the ARIRANG World Tour after a two week break on August 1. Time enough for a short and special little side trip in between, remember this ARMY, you’ll know when you know.
Yours in gossip,
Lainey
