Inevitable. Jack Smith has begun the process of ending the federal cases against Trump. Consequences for thee, none for me. (Celebitchy)

Olivia Rodrigo said her red flag question for men is whether or not they want to go into space. People have been arguing about it ever since, with many pointing out that space travel is the dream of a lot of people. True! But COME ON. You KNOW the kind of man she’s speaking to here. There are men—people—who dream of going to space out of a sense of wonder and fascination and exploration, people who love science and Star Trek and would leap at the chance to go to space to fulfill that lifelong dream. Very very very very very very very very very very few of those people actually get to go to space.

And then there are the ones for whom space travel is tourism, who absolutely will have the chance to drop seven figures to enter low Earth orbit for ten minutes and call it a day. The ones for whom space travel is/will be the ultimate status symbol. There are a lot of those people, there will be even more as space tourism becomes more common. Given her own status, I bet Olivia Rodrigo is meeting more of the latter type of guy. I, too, wouldn’t go on a second date with a guy who’s into space tourism. Space shouldn’t be commoditized or commercialized. (Pajiba)

Keeping to the recent Martha Stewart trend, here is a look back at reviews for her 1988 book, Christmas. One reviewer said she has the “soul of a dog trainer”, in a letter to the editor, a person complained about doing anything other than “find 14 ways to prepare spinach”—there are no spinach recipes in the book. One part of Martha’s evolution we maybe don’t consider enough is that now, we consider Martha and her domestic arts ilk aspirational. But back then, people took her elaborate bakes, tablescapes, and handmade decorations as a personal affront, an implication that they’re not doing enough. People got super into their feelings about her Christmas book. (Eater)
