What is this accent Dianna Agron is using in viral Vanity Fair GRWM video?

Before we get into Dianna Agron’s outfit, we need to talk about the hilarious controversy that broke out a few weeks ago over how she speaks.

Dianna of course is best known for playing Quinn Fabray in Glee. The show premiered 16 years ago, it’s been a long time, but this is the role that people associate her most closely with – and since Glee was a cultural phenomenon at the time, the way fame works, after all these years, she’s remained fixed in the character ever since.

Dianna, an American born in Georgia and grew up in Texas, is now in her late 30s, for the last four years she’s been dating the artist Harold Ancart, who is Belgian but is based in New York, though he and Dianna spend time together in Europe. There was some speculation earlier this year that their relationship may have come to an end, but no confirmation.

So, cut to May, and Dianna’s attending a Miu Miu event. She’s doing a Vanity Fair GRWM that went viral for the way she’s speaking.

There were people clowning her for the way she said “fruit” off the top and, in general, whatever this accent is. French? Continental?

In her defence, and I’m going to try, our voices get deeper as we age, and this accent suits her grownup voice. It also suits her face! You know how the way some people sound don’t match up with the way they look? A younger David Beckham comes to mind. But if you didn’t know who Dianna Agron was and you just met her in this video, wouldn’t you believe that she was from Europe, LOL?

Anyway, here’s Dianna at the Maison Margiela show wearing the best outfit I’ve ever seen on her: a white shirt, under a sheer dress, under a distressed skirt. And I’m not usually into the iconic Margiela “Tabi” toe but it looks really good in the glossed leather pump, with the breakaway band across the top of the foot.
