Bridgerton is about finding love in the ton and Jennifer Lopez loves love, so perhaps not surprising that she threw a Bridgerton-themed birthday party in the Hamptons this weekend.

Friends and family, including her mother and also Sarah Jessica Parker, were all seen showing up in Bridgerton fits but we still don’t know what JLo looked like in Bridgerton style. Is she more of a Daphne or a Cressida? Cressida, obviously. But she has yet to share, at the time of this writing, any photos on her socials of the event. We’ll see it eventually, though. As you know, JLo knows how to bank content and I’m thinking this Bridgerton birthday would be great to share in the new installment of On The JLo. We haven’t gotten one in a while.

That was Saturday, on Sunday JLo and crew went out for lunch as she continues to spend all her downtime from cancelling the tour, home-basing in New York now for weeks. It feels like it’s the longest stretch that she’s been in one place which is inconveniently on the other side of the country from her husband. Estranged husband?

Ben was not in the Hamptons for the party. JLo’s actual birthday is on Wednesday, she’s turning 55. Midweek, scheduling, doesn’t bode well for a visit if she’s working. But…

There is a work-related project that’s coming up. The Toronto International Film Festival has announced its lineup and JLo’s next film, Unstoppable, will be world premiering. The film stars Emmy winner Jharrel Jerome and also Don Cheadle, Michael Peña, and Bobby Cannavale and is based on the book Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion, co-written by Anthony Robles and Austin Murphy. It’s the story of how Anthony became a champion wrestler, living with disability and surviving abuse. Unstoppable is the directorial debut of William Goldenberg, who won an Oscar for editing for Argo which, of course, was directed by Ben Affleck.

Ben and Matt Damon are producing Unstoppable through Artists’ Equity so Bennifer is still in business. Not just on this film but on a couple of future projects. There is no doubt JLo will be in Toronto for the premiere. She’s not the main character of the story but she is the marquee star of the movie, and promotion is her thing. Also she should have good memories of TIFF because TIFF is where Hustlers premiered. Will Ben join her since, you know, this is legitimately a professional collaboration? What will their status be by September?
