The British tabloids are hedging their bets on the future of Harry and Meghan’s relationship with Netflix, with the Daily Mail reporting that they will sign a new deal for more content. Do I think the Daily Mail knows anything more than us? No, there is no way Netflix or the Sussexes would leak to that outlet. But what will happen next is anyone’s guess and Meghan is playing it cool. 

Since launching, the brand and her Instagram has been pretty consistent. But Meghan has not updated her Instagram in three weeks and As ever has not updated since July 14. This is an eternity for a lifestyle brand. If Netflix isn’t renewed, that means As ever is busy finding new partners on all fronts. Remember when Meghan and Harry had dinner with Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz-Beckham and everyone was speculating on the expat son story? There were other people at that dinner, specifically the CEO of Paramount. Could Meghan move her content deal to Paramount+? I think she still has a lot of options. 

For the product line, I can’t imagine anyone is happy with the current situation and this has me thinking that for longevity and consistency, there’s probably a retail connection at work. I see Williams Sonoma. Wouldn’t that be the perfect fit? 

Even I have a limited pop culture bandwidth so I don’t really know what Ryan Murphy’s deal is with this Kennedy miniseries. It feels like a public humiliation ritual but I’m staying out of it. JFK Jr.’s nephew Jack is not and has publicly called out Ryan Murphy, which caused Ryan Murphy to comment with an insensitive quote. Now Carole Radziwill, who was married to John’s cousin and best friend Anthony and a very close friend of Carolyn, is jumping in to defend Jack. This isn’t the first time Ryan has been accused of being sensationalist or sleazy in his subject choices, so I don’t know that he’s losing sleep over it. 

The latest name being floated to replace Anna Wintour at Vogue is Eva Chen, the current director of fashion partnerships at Instagram. This is from Puck News, a reliable source but it’s still an early guessing game. I imagine people are working hard behind the scenes to find out if they are in the mix and if not, how to get in the mix. 

I bet this guy is acting like a BFF Lord Varys, trying to guide and jockey favour with the next anointed one. As long as it’s not him. Can you imagine? I shudder at the thought.

Cruz Beckham is engaging in a social media cold war with his brother Brooklyn, posting and deleting a bunch of Instagram Notes (does anyone under 25 use Notes? I’m unclear on this) that included “You’re a fraud” and “Oh it’s Stockholm syndrome”. My personal favourite is “Whole family o’ c**ts” (meaning the Peltzes). Lol.
