Cameron Diaz is starring in new film for Apple, it’s a pretty heavy cast. But I have a question about Cameron Diaz’s reemergence into movies – who is watching these films? I’m not asking to be shady but does Cameron get streaming minutes (which is the movie theatre equivalent of butts in seats)? Think of how many streaming shows and films are ping-ponged with recommendations – does her work ever come up?

Cameron’s persona is very tied to a certain kind of early-aughts film. Is her newer work the equivalent of when you go see a nostalgia band and they say “here’s one from our new album” and everyone groans?

This is probably confirmation bias, but since Tiffany & Co was acquired by LVMH, they have had a lot of celebrity spokespeople, including massive campaigns with Beyoncé and Jay-Z and Rosé. Natalie Portman is their newest house ambassador and there’s been a steady stream of sponsored posts from the Oscars. This strategy has been in play for a few years and I’m curious about the return on investment. In 2023, Vogue Business asked if Tiffany was moving too fast to bring in Gen Z customers but maybe the demographic focus has shifted since then. Gen Z has its own ecosystem and it doesn’t seem like Tiffany is really tapping into that. Gen Z is Apple Martin, not Gwyneth Paltrow.

OK now this is Gen Z in a snapshot. Did you see Hudson’s little fan at the Oscars? Our overheating Canadian.

There was a lot of razzle dazzle on the Oscars red carpet and the after parties, including Gabrielle Union in a slinky white gown by Celia Kritharioti. But the gown I really want to talk about is the brown Altazurra she wore to the Jhpiego gala, where she was named 2026 Global Ambassador. Such a cool dress, with the way the tassels drape and wrap around the front.

DTF: St. Louis could be the next big binge. I always enjoy a Linda Cardellini show, she has good taste. And is underrated.
