Why is Jake Gyllenhaal so smiley now, what’s his deal.
Vince Vaughn commented on the decline of late night ratings on Theo Von’s podcast and his framing is interesting. He said (in part), “The podcasts have gotten so much more popular with less production, less writers [and] less staff because people want authenticity. And I think that the talk shows, to a large part, became really agenda-based." Late night show ratings have been in decline for decades and I think it’s a bunch of reasons (including the way we consume media – “late night” used to cap off the day, but that doesn’t really fit in a 24/7 news cycle). Vaughn’s remarks imply that podcasts are not agenda-driven when Theo Von and Joe Rogan (a consistent #1 spot) are MAGA-adjacent, that’s how they built their audiences. And I’d also point out that, like talk shows, podcasts are a very safe space for celebrities. The hosts rarely ever push back and there’s no audience, as well as the ability to edit and do retakes, as well as get final approval from PR teams. Podcasts are just as much the establishment as late night TV.
It’s bad enough that TV is so dark, now the posters are dark too?! What do these people have against light bulbs.
Can you imagine how bitchy their Broadway gossip sessions are? (Complimentary)
Of course Colin Farrell is inquisitive and warm-hearted in spirit, stopping to chat with an author at a bookstore. In a slutty little v-neck, no less.
Maybe it’s because I recently watched Good Will Hunting (top 5 desert island movie for me) and I love Minnie Driver. There’s something a little “high school production” about this costume.
I love this picture of Minnie Driver in the TV Biblical epic she's in. She looks like she's playing a character in the Bible named Minnie Driver. pic.twitter.com/EXLMqWeXVa
