Adam Scott was at the farmer’s market this weekend with his wife Naomi in their cute matching khakis. Both outfits are kinda coordinated. Like not super matchy-matchy but definitely a similar vibe. Did not know Adam Scott had this street style game. His pants are excellent.

Adam, by the way, has been doing some light Emmys campaigning for Severance. The show is one of the frontrunners across multiple categories and he’s one of the favourites in the very competitive Leading Actor Drama category alongside Sterling K Brown, Gary Oldman, Pedro Pascal, and Noah Wyle. Right now, the predictors are saying it’s between Severance and The Pitt. And in the acting category that Noah Wyle has a slight edge over Adam.

I already said last week why I don’t watch The Pitt, though I understand people’s devotion to the show. That said, I wonder if Severance and The Pitt end up splitting – like Severance for the biggest award, which is Outstanding Drama, and Noah for Best Actor? – or if it will be a snowball effect where one show just keeps winning almost everything.

I also wonder whether or not Adam’s work in The Studio makes a difference. That’s just a clunky segue to say that if Adam wins, I want him to “Sal Saperstein”.

What else happened today…

We should start seeing Venice Film Festival arrivals very soon as the festival kicks off on Wednesday. Ahead of this year’s edition, the Fug Girls have put together a gallery of every outfit Cate Blanchett has ever worn on the Lido. (Go Fug Yourself)

Marc Maron doesn’t like Bill Maher and he clearly isn’t a fan of Jerry Seinfeld. But my big takeaway from this was… there was a connection between Jerry and Scientology?! I definitely missed that lesson in gossip class. (Pajiba)

Alan Siegel is looking back on Naomi Watt’s “role(s) of a lifetime". That, of course, would be her performance in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive. (The Ringer)

This quote from Kristen Chenoweth about how she and Ariana Grande talk made me laugh because I got it right away. Not just the dolphins sounds but the rhythm of it, the high frequency of two people who just get it each other. (Celebitchy)

Fascinating interview with Ado who is Japan’s biggest popstar and has been for years, only no one knows what she looks like. Even though she’s performed at massive concert venues and touring! She has managed to conceal her identity for this long not only because she prefers to stay hidden and not only because it’s adding to the performance of her celebrity but because she’s adhering to the culture of “Utaite” singers that originated online in Japanese. (The Hollywood Reporter)
