Rosalía has been seen in New York a few times this week and on one of those days wearing a really great outfit. Check out this white peasant dress underneath a bad bitch leather jacket. The high collar, the belt details, the oversized sleeves.

There is no way this is remotely affordable… but I wish.

Rosalía out in New York, April 30, 2024

Rosalía is presumably in New York for the Met Gala. She skipped last year and in 2022 went as a guest of Matthew Williams, then the creative director for Givenchy. She’s never really been associated with one house or one designer though and has worn everything from Versace to Schiaparelli to Balenciaga, so I’m curious, if she does attend on Monday, who she’ll be repping. My hope is… Jacquemus. I can’t wait to see how Jacquemus might do the Garden of Time theme.

The last time Rosalía was at the Met Gala was also the last time Bella Hadid was there. And they hung out that night.

Bella, along with Gigi Hadid, used to be a Met Gala fixture. But over the last couple of years, Bella has taken a step back from modelling. She’s been focusing on her mental health, she moved to Texas, she’s a horse girl now, and has largely been off the fashion grid. As Maria mentioned earlier this week in Celebrity Social Media, though, she’s launching her own line of fragrances called ‘Ôrebella and has been doing promotion for it the last week or so. Which is why she’s been seen all over New York.

So the timing is interesting because she happens to be in town, building awareness for her new product, when everyone else is in town for the fashion party of the year. Does that mean… she’ll be back at the Met Gala? I hope so – the Hadid sisters are the superior sisters at this event.

As for Bella’s outfits this week, she stepped out in fitted capri pants yesterday and even though she’s been out of the spotlight for a minute, what hasn’t changed is the trend signaling. What Bella wears has often become what everyone else starts wearing. Now multiple fashion outlets, like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire have all made it official after her blessing: the capri pants are going to be everywhere.
