Michael B Jordan is enjoying the experience of his first Oscar nomination this award season for his performance as both Smoke and Stack in Sinners. It’s still shocking to me that he’s not one of the frontrunners – because, like, it’s a towering achievement, two towering achievements, actually.

Still, MBJ is showing up alongside the Sinners team to celebrate the film’s record of 16 nominations and he was at the nominees luncheon yesterday looking fine as f-ck in grey, and a signature for him – no tie, tank underneath, plus that ridiculously gorgeous smile.

Here’s a moment that made me smile… and when I saw it wondered… do we want to Gossip Genie this?

Like MBJ, EJAE is a first time Oscar nominee for “Golden” in the best original song category. She was in a perfect look for the luncheon – cream striped suit with a silk shirt. And the look was noticed by MBJ who stood next to her for the class photo which is when this happened:

I have watched this so many times it’s embarrassing. The way his expression changes when he sees her and pulls her in close for a hug, then commenting on how coordinated they are. How GOOD THEY LOOK TOGETHER. Today has been a particularly sh-t day, the latest in what feels like a f-cking endless procession of sh-t days. We could use more love, or fantasy-casting for love. Would you like to Gossip Genie EJAE and MBJ? Even their names work together?!
