Would you yell at Rihanna?
Rihanna was at Mariah Carey’s show in Vegas last night. It’s not the first time RiRi has fangirled Mimi. In fact, it could be becoming an annual tradition.
Because in 2024, exactly a year ago, RiRi was front row for Mimi’s show in Brooklyn and could not contain herself, offering her breasts to the Butterfly Queen for a blessing.
It’s obvious, then, that RiRi will make time during the holidays to see the Angel of Christmas, even with three small children and what’s no doubt a pretty hectic schedule. RiRi makes Mimi a priority. And her devotion isn’t quiet, it’s loud and… well… tall. Rihanna is tall, or what I consider tall – 5 ft 8. When she stands on a chair, she’s that much higher. Which is what she did during the show last night and someone yelled at her for it.
This too is becoming an annual tradition, I guess: Rihanna going viral every holiday season for doing something at a Mariah Carey show, LOL. Would you yell at Rihanna if this was you? I wouldn’t. Specifically because it’s Rihanna. Like, IT’s RIHANNA giving people a better view of herself, two megastars for the price of one!
Would you yell at a regular degular doing the same thing? No, not me. Maybe because I’ve been short all my life, I’m used to having my view blocked and also, I’d rather see a fangirl or fanboy doing fangirl and fanboy things than someone who stays seated the entire time – unless, of course, there’s a disability. I was just at a concert last night, one of the best concerts I’ve seen in a long time. The venue was incredible, the artists are legends. But it took a while to get going. Like people were seated until maybe the third or fourth song. The woman sitting in front of me actually turned around and asked if it was OK if she stood up. I appreciated it, and also told her that of course she had to stand up, we all need to stand up… for Ms Lauryn Hill, come on! And from that point we were up for the rest of the ride.
But this is contentious, an eternal debate, because not everyone thinks that standing should be standard at a concert (again, for those who are able to). And of course it depends on the show and the artist, I guess. I’m currently trying to decide whether or not I would stand up during a Sarah McLachlan concert as I’d be too busy crying during “Mary” to hold my legs up.
Anyway, here’s Rihanna yesterday in LA at the drug store before getting on the PJ to Vegas to see her idol. I love that she enjoys a trip to CVS as much as I do.
