Take a deep breath, steady yourself, especially you, Sarah, because she could barely handle the Dune: Part 2 press tour followed by the Oscars, and the chokehold that Zendaya had on us. And now the Challengers press tour has officially started with the first premiere in Australia. Our necks are about to be stepped on… again.

But first, let’s go back to Zendaya at the Oscars, wearing Armani Privé. And at the time, in my post, I called it a fashion kickoff for Challengers, and the end of the Dune 2 style streak. Looking back, I wonder if it was premature to make that declaration. Because now that I think about it, it was actually a transitional look. Yet another example of the genius of Law Roach.

Can you see it? It’s half and half! The silver part on her right side is still Dune… but what’s taking over is the pink and the palm trees – so Challengers. The fashion tells the story!

And now the fashion focus is firmly focused on the new film so there’s no subtlety here. Zendaya is wearing custom Loewe, a dress that features the silhouette of a tennis player holding a tennis racket – in other words, a silhouette of herself…and set against a green backdrop, like a tennis court or a tennis ball. Also, obviously, it’s stupid how good she looks.

Zendaya was joined by her two little white boys, Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor, and for those of you who missed it, this is how she refers to them in the film. Which means they get to witness firsthand the cultural phenomenon of a Zendaya press tour.

In other Zendaya news:

And related to that…

The Spider-Man 4 thing is just a rumour right now but if it’s true, she’ll be on set with her real life little white boy this fall.
