Zendaya: Sort of a Wedding Dress

Law Roach was the press release at the SAG Awards just over a week ago when he flippantly confirmed that Zendaya and Tom Holland’s wedding had already happened, they’re married. Nobody wanted to believe him. And then last week, in footage from a photo shoot with Robert Pattinson, she was seen wearing both her engagement ring and a new band. Add it all up and it equals… wife. She is a wife.

And if we needed more confirmation, she’s made it clear today in Paris, in her role as Louis Vuitton ambassador, Zendaya posed in a glorious white shirt dress, belted, mulleted, and bubbled, that she and Tom are, indeed, married.

Doesn’t take a stylist to tell you that that gold band does not belong with that silver ring. And she could have, if she wanted to, slipped off her wedding ring and chosen to go with the most stylish option, considering she must be aware of all the speculation. The fact that she didn’t, and the rings are such a glaring style clash, makes it that much more obvious.

YES, for the people in the back, Zendaya and Tom had their wedding. NO, we were not invited. YES, they did it their way, privately, no leaks, nobody sneaking photos, nobody running to TMZ for any tip-offs. And for those so entitled so as to feel that they’ve been deprived of a wedding dress moment…

Well, here she is in white, wearing a wedding band, if we need a shot of her as a bride. Happy now? Louis Vuitton must be – because this is also such a clever way to tie it into her commitment to the house, bring added value to the partnership, without giving away anything that’s actually private.

And I’m happy too. I am. Because I love this for gossip. I love that two of the most famous people of their generation, who together are one of the most famous couples of their generation, decided to go full analog with their most personal decision. No Instagram, no TikTok, not a spread in Vogue or any magazine. Just Law Roach, a person so closely associated with Zendaya, who also styles Tom, taunting the world by telling us that he very likely was the architect of one of the most iconic bridal looks of all time… that will remain unseen.

But isn’t that so much more chic? So much cooler than joining the ranks of those out here competing for likes and internet breakage? It makes Zendaya that much more singular as a celebrity. And I’m obsessed with her hair like this.
