Check out Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning at the Maleficent premiere in Japan today. They’ve done this often on the press tour – dress to their characters. Fanning’s in princess dresses while the Jolie goes dark faerie. This time though, it’s like a wedding. Angelina’s the groom to Elle’s bride. Look at the train on this white dress. A train with feathers. It’s gorgeous, no doubt. And well suited to her too. But you can’t deny it’s also very matrimony-ee.
Great job on Jolie’s smoky eye makeup.
By the way, Maleficent is now the highest-grossing live action film of Angelina Jolie’s career. Next: Unbroken and award season. It’s obvious that they’re hoping for Best Picture and Best Director nominations. Interestingly enough though, it was just announced on Friday that Selma, the Martin Luther King drama, starring Oprah Winfrey, will also be a holiday release, setting that film up for an Oscar push too. Oprah’s producing. And so is Plan B. Plan B… meaning… Brad Pitt. Ava DuVernay is directing. That’s two possible female directors who could be nominated for Oscar.
I mean, of course Brad would vote for the Jolie, right?
