A quick programming note: there was a major delay on the subway this morning and I had that appointment at the eye clinic (I’m a good candidate for laser eye surgery) and so I’m just trying to catch up between preparing for The Social which goes live in a couple of hours.

Here’s Channing Tatum on the set of Magic Mike 2 yesterday in Savannah, Georgia. It was also announced yesterday that, like Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer will NOT be back for the sequel, though not for the same reasons. McConaughey is an Oscar winner. Pettyfer is… well… Pettyfer.
Instead, joining Channing alongside Matt Bomer and Joe Meatball, are Jada Pinkett Smith, Michael Strahan, Elizabeth Banks, and Johnny Depp’s fiancée, Amber Heard who apparently wants to finally be in a movie that people will actually see.

OK. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I’m not sure if Channing could carry Magic Mike 2 on his own, and that McConaughey’s absence will be a big gap to fill. It looks like they realised that too. And so they’re filling it with volume. Which… kinda makes McConaughey look that much more valuable.
