Page Six has been working hard at the Beyonce-JayZ breakup. Now they’re focusing on another couple: my butterfly and her husband are on the verge of divorce…?
According to Page Six sources, Mimi keeps security on Nick Cannon all the time because she’s worried he’ll cheat on her. And they’re supposedly living apart. And that she suspects he loses control when he drinks. And that there might be an announcement some time this week that they’re separating.
If that’s the case, it’ll be the second breakup for Mimi this summer. After her album basically sucked sh-t, she and Jermaine Dupri ended their relationship a few weeks ago, and it sounds bitter. She and Dupri have been working together for almost two decades. Check his statement:
“I’m a very hands-on person when it comes to my work. I put my all into every project. But when I’m not allowed to do what I do, then I know it’s time for me to move on. Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future.”

So, is the butterfly about to go solo once again? I believe it. I believe it because she and Nick have always existed independently. Her business has never been his business. His business has never been her business. It’s easier to dissolve a marriage when there’s no business involved. And for him, at 33 years old, you can imagine how exhausting that might be – to look at the rest of your life knowing that you have to come home and make her a champagne bath, help her with her best angles, and then carry her up and down the stairs? F-ck him. That’s a goddamn privilege. And if he can’t see it, she can hire someone else who will. Like JLO’s Slum Bear.
But instead of making him the head choreographer of her tour, he’s just there to light her backstage candles. Oh yes, there’s a tour.
