I broke the story last year of Britney’s disastrous shoot for OK! Magazine during which she appeared incoherent and spacey, rubbing chicken fried grease all over her designer wardrobe, pee’d in front of the crew, touched herself inappropriately, babbled like a baby, and let her dog piss and sh*t all over the floor before taking off without notice. Click here for a refresher.

One year later, it’s a different story.

On stands tomorrow, this week’s OK features a sane and healthy Britney with her boys, looking happier than she has in ages, refocused and yes…ready to come back. It’s not the most heavy interview, not by a long shot, and she gets away without having to address what you really want to know, but still… there’s no sign of chicken fried stupid. This is a good thing.

The magazine also spoke with her father Jamie. A few highlights below:

Britney on SPF and JJ becoming performers in their own right. Interesting the allusion to a “normal childhood”:
“I’d rather not. But but I’d love them unconditionally if they wanted to. I’d just as soon they have a more normal childhood.”

Jamie on Kevin Federline, suddenly the world’s greatest father:
“Kevin is all for everything. He wants her to have 50/50 custody. He wants them to raise these kids together. Kevin’s heart is right.”

Jamie on being in Britney’s life:
"God has a way of taking something bad and turning it into something good. If this hadn’t happened, I would never have been able to get back with my daughter and have this relationship I have with these two little boys. It’s wonderful. (The relationship) is new for both of us. She sometimes calls me 50 times a day and asks me things that light my life up. But like all daughters, she is very manipulative and cunning. So she gets what she wants a lot.”

And Britney on her comeback:
"I’m writing every day, right here at the piano in this living room... This is my best work ever."
