Venice Film Festival. Beasts Of No Nation photo call and gala. No Idris Elba but Cary Fukunaga was there yesterday with the film's lead actor, Abraham Attah. I'm good with Cary in a tux. I'm great with Cary in a henley, holy sh-t.
The reviews for Beasts are now coming out of Venice. And so far they're pretty strong, both for Cary's direction and Idris's performance as The Commandant. As I mentioned the other day, Netflix is so confident in the quality of the film, they've already confirmed that they will be dedicating significant resources to mount an Oscar campaign. Say yes to Idris and Cary at the Oscars.
