Over the weekend US Weekly reported that Chris Evans and Lily Collins are dating. This random duo met at the Vanity Fair Oscars party last month, and according to the unnamed—of course—source quoted, it’s the “beginning stages” and they’re “having a lot of fun”. If true, I’m into it. Lily Collins is super cute and has her own stuff going on—she’ll next appear in Warren Beatty’s Howard Hughes movie—and as a woman with crazy eyebrows, I appreciate that she lets her crazy brows run free. We need more crazy brow acceptance. (It doesn’t matter how I tweeze—that’s just how they’re shaped!)
The wording is curious, though. Remember when it was rumored that Evans and Sandra Bullock were dating last year? Refresh yourself, and note the wording: “They are not in a relationship, but they are definitely hanging out and are in the early getting-to-know-each-other phase. They haven't put a title on it, but they really like each other.” The full US Weekly quote re: Lily Collins is: “It’s just the beginning stages. But they’re having a lot of fun and seeing where it goes.” They’re not identical, but they’re alike enough that I’m wondering if there’s a leak in Evans’ ship. He’s generally really good at locking his sh*t down, but that’s twice now this kind of rumor has emerged around him, with suspiciously similar soundbites. In the case of Bullock, it didn’t end up going anywhere—publicly, at least—so now it’s Lily Collins’ turn on the Captain America Tabloid Romance Wheel.
