I feel like they made a deliberate decision to differentiate between the two and contrast the lightness of the first with going dark, or should we say “earthy”, for the second. Even her face is only half lit. You like it?
You know what I like? I like that she’s not overdone. That her hair looks fried. That they haven't photoshopped the sh-t out of her face, or her arms for that matter, so that you can see the arm hair – we all have it. And her smile. You have an iPhone/android/whatever. You know your smiles. You know that smile when your lips get caught on your teeth? You hit “delete” and try, don’t you?
Gwyneth didn’t. And for the cover of her book. And it’s not like they wouldn’t have had options. But this is how she wants you to see her. This is how she wants you to buy her.
