Let's talk about Norbit. Norbit was the Eddie Murphy movie, a terrible movie, that was released around the time Eddie was nominated for an Oscar for Dreamgirls. The Norbit billboard loomed over Hollywood and Highland, then the Kodak Theatre, where the Academy awards the Oscars, in the weeks leading up to the event, during the voting period. Many have speculated that Eddie lost the Best Supporting Actor Oscar to Alan Arkin as a result.
Norbit was what came to mind this morning when I read this article over at E! News about Jennifer Aniston. It’s an interview for Horrible Bosses 2. Her character, Julia, wears a cock ring around her neck:
As you know, Aniston is currently pushing hard for award season consideration for her work in Cake. The timing then of Horrible Bosses 2, which comes out for US Thanksgiving, is critical. If it’s a hit, great, no problem, no damage done. If it’s not a hit, and if the reviews are sh-t, well…
You know what comes out five days before Horrible Bosses? A little movie called Mockingjay. So now you see why Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are putting on a hand-holding united front here at LAX last night.
