These pictures of Jude Law on the set of The New Pope in Venice yesterday don’t really need much explanation. He’s reprising his role as Lenny Belardo and John Malkovich also stars, no story details have been released but… I mean… I can’t imagine he’s still the Pope. Full Story

Natalie Portman is currently in New York shooting a new film called Vox Lux. She plays Celeste who per Variety “rises from the ashes of a major national tragedy to pop superstardom. The film spans 15 years and traces important cultural moments from the singer’s perspective, starting in 1999 and ending in the present day. Full Story

The Sopranos, The Wire, Game of Thrones… HBO is  architect of what is now known as Peak TV. There are other brilliant shows on other great networks but HBO is expected to be A+ all the time, and don’t think they don’t know it. The first hurdle to clear with Genius, the feature film debut of English theater director Michael Grandage, is that everyone is played by Brits and Aussies, and by “everyone” I mean some of the most towering figures of American literature. You cast the best actor for the role and a good actor can convince you they’re anyone, so it shouldn’t really matter, but there is something profoundly odd about watching a parade of Lit 101 All Stars appear on screen and struggle with American accents. Full Story
