Few men, if any, can do it. Few men can quiver in spandex. Matt Damon does not quiver in spandex. I don’t care how much you love him, please don’t try convince me there’s something going on in your lady business when you look at these photos.

Matt is currently in South Africa shooting The Human Factor. He raced in the Cape Argus cycle tour for charity on Sunday with his brother Kyle and 35,000 others, finishing the 109 km (68 mile) route in just under 7 hours. Ok now THAT is quiver-worthy.

In The Human Factor Matt plays Francois Pienaar (who also rode with him), former rugby captain of the South African Springboks who led his team to victory at the World Cup in 1995 in his home country. The Springboks had been banned from competition for years (apartheid). Nelson Mandela lobbied to host the event and hoped the Springboks’ performance would unite the country. The Springboks won.

The film is based on a book by John Carlin called Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Made a Nation which was optioned by Morgan Freeman who will play Mandela. Freeman travelled to South Africa a couple of years ago for Mandela’s approval. Then he asked his friend Clint Eastwood to direct. The film is tentatively scheduled for release at the end of the year. Clint is notorious for working quickly.

Freeman, Eastwood, Damon, and Warner Bros financing…

Oscar bait!
