The last few updates we’ve had on the state of Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers’ relationship came to us via some Rogue Relatives. The Rodgers family drama has been great for gossip but until now, it seemed like the other ARod and Olivia were solid, presenting as a united front while Aaron’s family stirred sh-t up in the press.
PEOPLE confirmed this morning that Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn are no longer the hottest NFL/Hollywood pairing. Come at me Brady fans. According to a source, the couple “amicably ended their relationship of three years” and that they “remain close friends and wish nothing but the best for each other moving forward.” I almost fell asleep reading that sh-t. Why not just confirm the split without the stock “we’re still friends” bullsh-t statement everyone goes with in the post-consciously uncoupling era?
Anyway, we’ve yet to hear directly from Rodgers or Munn and the timeline of the breakup is unclear. In February, Munn attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party solo. The year before, they went to the party together. So, let’s assume that they were already over by then. If that assumption is correct, things were falling apart right around the time Aaron’s dad Ed explained the family rift in four words to the New York Times: “fame can change things.”
At the time, I interpreted that quote as a direct shot at Olivia Munn. I felt uncomfortable putting all the blame on Munn for the Rodgers’ drama but there's too much evidence to ignore that she at least had something to do with Aaron’s estrangement. Sarah, Maria, and I had an email thread going about the potential reasons for the Rodgers’ feud. Sarah thought it was all about religion and/or money. Maria was just as obsessed as I was about the reports that Olivia and Aaron returned Christmas presents from his family. I got some reader theories that maybe the Rodgers family wasn’t OK with Munn’s biracial background. Here’s what we know for sure: Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn start dating three years ago. Around the same time, Aaron stops talking to his family. Aaron’s brother Jordan is a fame-hungry d-bag who is surviving off of Instagram sponsorships and a broadcast job he got from riding his brother’s coattails to reality stardom. Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn have broken up.
So, with all of that in mind, the question is: does Aaron start talking to his family again post-split? If Ed and Darla Rodgers are suddenly in the stands cheering on their son come NFL season, does it confirm that Olivia Munn was the cause of their family feud? My guess is that we won’t hear anything from Aaron Rodgers about the breakup. He’s been notoriously cagey when it comes to this stuff. Olivia Munn, on the other hand, has written a memoir and is known for her quirky anecdotes and oversharing in interviews. She’s also super active on social media. Five days ago, she posted a photo where she’s sitting on Keegan-Michael Key’s lap.
It seems innocent enough but if we’re going to get any breakup dirt, it might not come from a Rogue Relative this time. Maybe Olivia Munn will give the next Jenny Slate-esque candid post-breakup interview. Stand by…
Lastly, guys, I’m really worried about Frankie and Chance Rodgers.
Who gets the dogs in the breakup?
