I appreciate Sarah Jessica Parker as an actress and as a person (I think the work she does with libraries and other cultural institutions is very admirable) but And Just Like That… is made to torture us. There is no other reasoning.

I could pound my keyboard in rage about the nun from outside of Winnipeg but that’s not even the issue; this show is a shell of a husk of a corpse. It’s like watching a 30-minute TikTok but with less inventiveness. And the saddest part is that Carrie, as annoying and selfish and cringe as she could be, was a living, breathing, messy woman with wants and desires. Today’s Carrie has nothing to SAY, about herself or anyone else. She’s completely lost her voice and maybe that’s a narrative structure because it looks like the voiceover is coming back, but even if it doesn’t, she has no spark. She’s become the pristine, vacant void she always thought Natasha was.

It’s Andy Cohen’s birthday and I love this description of him. “Would take a ride from a stranger” is a great way to describe someone.

As podcasts have been completely co-opted by slick celebrity productions, WTF with Marc Maron, one of the most renowned and successful podcasts to ever be made, is ending. In a statement, Marc Maron said that he’s satisfied and the team has done all they want to do, so it’s over. It’s completely understandable but also very rare for a project to end so peacefully.

Over the weekend, PEOPLE had an exclusive about Nicola Peltz-Beckham’s wedding dress being the start of the drama. This is not an exclusive, it was reported on years ago. We KNOW. PEOPLE is also reporting that Nicola and Brooklyn have hired the same law firm as Meghan Markle. That’s the headline but Meghan doesn’t seem to have anything to do with it and her name is being tied into all their family drama.

For the Peltz-Beckhams, the new hire is for “reputation management,” something we usually align with a public relations agency. A source told people, “Ironically, the inaccurate reporting proves exactly why one hires legal counsel, to set the record straight and combat the spread of deliberate misinformation.” Hmmm. OK so 90% of the reporting we read about them is sourced from the inside; remember that story about how they went to Meghan and Harry’s house for dinner? It turns out the dinner was not at Meghan and Harry’s at all. It was at the home of a Paramount CEO. The initial reporting made it seem much more personal and that was the first story out – the follow-up didn’t get much traction. As I said at the time, who would this leak benefit – Meghan and Harry, who get endless press and regularly hang with major power players, or Brooklyn and Nicola? I’m writing about this Glamour Germany cover tomorrow.

Big week for feuding families: Liam and Noel are set to have their first tour rehearsal this week. Seems like this is cutting it close but then again, maybe the less time spent in a room together, the better?
