Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro spent Memorial Day in Malibu. They were seen hanging out at the beach with Monica's dog, Auggie, and picking up groceries with some friends.
Poor Auggie is currently wearing a cone. Humans with dogs often call this the cone of shame and I’m guessing since Auggie’s is a standard issue cone, and he’s being carried so much, maybe he’s pouty about it. I live with two dogs who are very, very pouty whenever they’re coned. So much so that we’ve gone out of our way to buy alternatives to keep them more comfortable and they still act like they’re living the most tragic life any dog has ever known.
Auggie, from these pictures, seems to have something in common with my two primadonnas – he is being pampered not only by his OG human but also her boyfriend, and he is clearly familiar with this man.
Andrew and Monica presumably started dating some time during award season. Last summer he was still with Kate Thomas, the “spiritual healer”. My point is that this would be his and Monica’s first summer together after an extended downtime for both of them these last few months during which they spent some time travelling, one of those trips was to Japan.
Now, it’s early summer, and they’re closer to her home before she will likely at some point relocate for a while to London since she’ll be performing at the National Theatre in a new staging of Les Liaisons Dangereuses opposite Leslie Manville and Aidan Turner. It’s the first work Monica has booked since her Oscar nomination and meant to showcase her range since we’ll next see her in FUBAR season two, premiering on Netflix on June 12. She’ll be on the press tour for that soon.
So she can do drama and she can sing, she’s a trained dancer, in FUBAR she flexes her action skills, and now she’s taking on the West End. I mean I can definitely see why Andrew is attracted.
