I wrote a couple of weeks ago about Walton Goggins, the Celebrity - he’s been a working and successful actor for decades, but this year he became a Celebrity because of The White Lotus season three. And up to this point he kinda seems to be enjoying it in that it’s not like he and his team aren’t aware of the hype, and instead of retreating from the spotlight, going underground to get away from it and let everyone’s obsessiveness die down, he remains right up in our faces.

Um, literally. Like groin first.

I know we’re not supposed to be talking about people’s bodies and especially not their body parts but… he’s in a pair of bright yellow Speedos with his legs spread and his bulge on display. Sorry, but I’m not evolved enough to focus on anything else. And besides, isn’t this a thirst trap? Doesn’t this qualify as a thirst trap?! Walton Goggins is not my kink but I’m also not mad about the fact that he’s become a sex symbol.

As we have seen more and more lately, Walton is getting papped with regularity. He was photographed in two different outfits on Tuesday – and now we have to talk about the bulge again, my apologies!, because in one of those looks he’s wearing fitted joggers under a blazer and given that this is happening the same week as the yellow Speedo, it’s just that the bulge is on the mind, you know? Later on Walton changed into a suit and was apparently heading to a fitting at Thom Sweeney.

There are a number of reasons why he would need to be at a fitting considering how popular and in-demand he is right now. I wonder though – will we see Walton Goggins at the Met Gala?! It’s not like the man doesn’t enjoy fashion, he’s been in at least three or four fashion editorials lately.

He also might need all this fashion for the Emmys and the campaign stops leading up to nominations and beyond. Here’s where we move from the bulge to the beef. CNN’s entertainment reporter, Elizabeth Wagmeister, said this week on the Viall Files podcast that she’s been told that Walton and Aimee Lou Wood will be “doing something for work in the next few weeks”. She didn’t specify what the work was but for sure The White Lotus will be one of the heavy favourites going into the Emmys and it’s a matter of just how many nominations the series will pick up.

Nominations voting begins June 12 so leading up to that and during the two-week voting period, the For Your Consideration events will be wall-to-wall. Screenings, panels, roundtables… at some point, some combination of the actors will be involved in these activities. If Walton Goggins is ostensibly enjoying his Celebrity era, I cannot imagine he and his team aren’t pursuing the “Walton Goggins Emmy Nominee-Eventual-Winner Agenda”.

Neither Walton nor Aimee have addressed the speculation about a possible fracture – and they KNOW there’s been speculation about a fracture. Is this strategic? Are they saving the response/denial/whatever explanation for maximum play for Emmys campaigning? Or have they not said anything because there actually is an issue? And if there is an issue what will it be like between them when, inevitably, they’ll have to be around each other as we get closer to the Emmys? You know who wins in all of this? The body language “experts” and the lip readers.
