Charlize Theron’s jewelry box

I’ve received a few requests for Charlize Theron’s metallic skirt (seen in this post, scroll down) and it’s McQueen. There are no imitators or dupes.

I’ve also had several requests for her earrings and jewelry is always tricky because of the angles, particularly for earrings. However, I did a bit of poking around and found several jewelers who have posted her in their wares. She’s a big fan of the huggie. I get mine from Mejuri and sleep in them without issue.

Jennifer Lawrence sneakerinas

The Isabel Marant wedge, Alaïa’s mesh shoe, the Balenciaga chunky sneaker – summer footwear trends are chaotic. This year a new contender has entered “is this ugly in a good way, or a bad way?” arena: the sneakerina. Jennifer Lawrence is at the forefront in Wales Bronner. They are Velcro. They have a rubber sole. They are $600US and sold out. I don’t know what to make of them.

But I do think part of what makes Lawrence’s outfit work is she pairs them with a pair of wide-leg red pants from La Ligne. The combo works really well and has me wondering if the best way to wear the sneakerina is to essentially cover it up.

And while sneakerina is catchy, the style (a sporty Mary Jane) isn’t new; Camper has been making this style of shoe for years. This one is available at Gravity Pope, a legendary Vancouver spot.

If there’s any doubt sneakerinas are the real deal, here’s Bella Hadid (she and Gigi are responsible for like half of the shoe trends of the last 5 years) in a pair of Vivaia’s Cristina ballet sneakers.

Sheryl Lee Ralph’s Emmys vest

I received a request for this great vest as seen on Sheryl Lee Ralph (in the Instagram post below). The whole outfit is sick, it’s like business vacation. She doesn’t look like she’s lounging on a beach but it’s also definitely summer, without being too breezy. It’s tight and stylish. The vest is the Tamara by Veronica Beard. It comes in multiple fabrics and colours (pink, white, tweed). Obsessed with the leather but they don’t have my size. You can find it at Holt Renfrew or any high-end retailer. TNT out of Toronto has a gingham Veronica Beard vest (this one is the Lois) and how great is this for summer and fall?

Bonus: I found two similar styles from Canadian retailers – the Emery Round Neck Flyaway from Dynamite (nearly sold out) and the Regal Vest from Aritzia
