A$AP Rocky was in New York today on a photo shoot for Vogue. Rocky is always dandy but this fit, the monochrome, the short thick tie, the jewels – this is giving Met Gala Black Dandy, which is the theme this year: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”. And it’s coming up soon, three weeks Monday. Rocky is one of the co-chairs, so no surprise he’s filming something with Vogue.

It’s actually about that time for Vogue to drop its new cover. Gigi Hadid covered the April 2025 issue which was revealed in mid-March so probably next week we’ll know who’s featured for May 2025, and it’s usually Met Gala themed. Harry Styles was the first ever man to be on the cover of Vogue solo, that was back in 2020. All celebrity co-chairs of the Met Gala this year are male – in addition to Rocky, there’s Colman Domingo, Pharrell, and Lewis Hamilton. Will it be one of them? Or all of them, together?

Back to Rocky, as I mentioned earlier this week in my post about Rihanna, if Rocky’s at the Met Gala, Rihanna will be at the Met Gala, and she’s already been suited and booted this year - in fact both of them were off to an early start with the tailoring. I can’t f-cking wait to see how what they’re bringing to the event this time. And, of course, whether or not they’ll have an announcement to make.

What else happened today…

Viola Davis for President and bad bitch action star, I am watching the sh-t out of G20 this weekend. (Refinery 29)

Paul Mescal and Emma Corrin were at a Cartier event at the V&A last night, also Gemma Chan. Normally I’m all about Gemma and love everything she wears but I’m underwhelmed by this bright green sequin dress. I think it’s partly the gloves the dress itself, beyond the colour, just isn’t very interesting. (Go Fug Yourself)

It’s allergy season and typically we think of pollen. But last year, someone very close to us had an allergic reaction and I’m not exaggerating when I say this, nor am I bragging, that Jacek and I saved his life. We were with him on the golf course, he tried to brush it off, like I’m OK, I’m OK because he didn’t want to inconvenience anyone and he thought he just needed to cool down. But I had seen him swatting at his leg a few minutes before, and it looked like he’d been stung. He didn’t even know he was allergic to wasps because, well, you don’t know until you f-cking know. So this piece about insect allergies on the rise really resonated with me. (Vox)

After Keri Hilson called out Ester Dean about the “Turnin’ Me On (Remix)”, Ester has written an open letter clarifying the situation about the song and, all these years later, it sounds like the men in the industry had a lot more to do with it and did not experience any of the mess that the women did. As usual. (Hollywood Unlocked)

There was a quiz in The New York Times today. I love a quiz, can never resist one. This quiz was about our “social biome” which is “the complex ecosystem of relationships that can shape your quality of life” and how healthy it might be. My results made me laugh. And I’m sharing screen shots of it here.

The first part is relatively positive – I’m checking off the boxes.

My Social Biome Results

The second part will make my husband Jacek laugh. Because it’s almost word for word how he would describe me. I have stranger danger. I do not talk to people I don’t know, I don’t even look up and make eye contact when I’m moving around in the world. This is why I barely recognise our neighbours. We’ve been living in our house for over 10 years and there are people we see when we’re out with the dogs who live on our street that are totally unfamiliar to me. And Jacek is always like… why are you so weird?!

Now look at my results, LOLOL.

My Biome recommendations

Anyway, the social biome quiz – if you’re curious about yourself – is here
