Bennifer Independence (Day)

It is Independence Day in the United States. If I was home tonight I would hit play on Will Smith fighting aliens because I will always and forever f-ck with that movie!

Anyway, on this Fourth of July, it would appear that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are on different coasts. She was seen in New York in a “JLO BE MY MAMA” crop top that everyone is trying to assign a hidden meaning to. Meanwhile he was seen in LA yesterday having soba with his kids, Violet and Fin. I wonder if they’re proper slurpers. Be loud when you’re eating your noodles!

There are some cute shots of Ben and Violet here as they’re leaving. Violet’s got her arms wrapped around her dad as they’re talking and my big takeaway here is… she is SO tall! Ben is a legit tall celebrity. Most of them lie about their height, but Ben who is listed at 6 ft 2 is actually 6 ft 2. I know this because I’ve stood in front of him on a red carpet and I’m 5 ft 3 and I was definitely looking way up. Violet, you will note, is wearing sneakers. And she’s not that much shorter. She has to be at least 5 ft 10, right? 

But you’re probably not here to talk about height. On this Independence Day, we are here to talk about the status of Bennifer and whether or not they are or are soon to be independent of each other seeing as they are spending the holiday apart. Last year, on the Fourth of July, Bennifer was in the Hamptons, with Violet, and they all attended Michael Rubin’s epic white party. 

One year later and, sadly, the marriage is in limbo…although he’s still wearing his wedding ring. And their second wedding anniversary is less than two weeks away. 

 

So… is anything happening this long weekend? If it does, we’re tempting fate. Because we are posting all day today but we are dark tomorrow, no matter what. Should something go down, we’ll cover it on Monday.
