Ben Affleck was in New York this weekend to see Lindsay Shookus. His trip has been well documented by the paps. They went out for dinner. They were seen at her apartment. And they were at the US Open men’s final yesterday to watch Rafael Nadal win his 16th grand slam, his second of the year.

There was hand-holding. There was giggling. They sat close, his arm around her shoulders. His hand casually hovering around that erogenous zone between her waist and her ass. She leaned into his neck. At one point he bent over her, as if to kiss her forehead

So we’ve moved on to the next stage in their relationship. Two weeks ago, she had her hand tucked into his elbow while they were out in LA. Now we’ve moved on to a new phase in their publicly tactile displays of affection. Why not, right? It’s not like we don’t know. There’s no point in denying it now. What’s more surprising is that they’re at the US Open and not a Red Sox game.

OMG I totally forgot about that gross hair thing he was doing on his face back then.

By the way, while Ben and Lindsay were in New York trying to normalise us to their situation, Jennifer Garner was in Texas, helping hurricane victims and spending time with kids. My GOD, she’s good.

Today I was inspired by the huge hearts in Texas. There is a generosity of spirit that gets lost in political rhetoric, but-- people come together in a time of crisis. You know what’s beautiful? Children look for light. Terrifying things have happened to these kids in the past couple of weeks, but they don’t want to dwell on those stories. They want to tell you that their neighbor’s puppy was found. That they saved their mother’s life by throwing her a rope when the flood water overcame her and now she’s ok. That they all celebrated when power came back on. We have to protect our kids and we have to learn from them.
