Beyoncé at Louis Vuitton

Beyoncé wrapped up three nights in Paris on the weekend and as noted, she gave Paris a lot of love. She loves Paris so much she hasn’t left yet, to the benefit of one of her friends: Pharrell. 

It’s Paris Fashion Week for menswear and the biggest show on the calendar today was Louis Vuitton where Pharrell presented his latest collection. LV is always well attended… but when Beyoncé decides to show up, it’s the MOST well attended. Beyoncé dedicated much of her day to LV, first stopping by in all white to Fondation Louis Vuitton earlier in the day with Jay-Z…

And then arriving with Jay and her nephew Julez for the show. Remember the people there were mostly VIPs, this was not a concert, and yet you can hear a cheer go up when they realise that she’s in their presence.

And then Pharrell, at the end of the show, coming up to greet the Carters with what looks like a personal gift for the Queen – a bag, probably the most exclusive bag. There is no f-cking way Pharrell is handing her a piece that anyone could get online. If he’s holding onto it, and delivering it in person, that bag is  elite.

Honestly, if I were there, I can tell you for sure I would not be watching the show. Eyes on Beyoncé only. She knows, she can feel it. Beyoncé, however, was paying attending to the runway – and she looked like she was having a good time, grooving to the music in her seat, murmuring to Jay about what pieces she liked.

This collection, though, is about as quiet luxury as we’ve seen from Pharrell, especially off the top. The full video of the presentation is below and you’ll note that we’re in full prep school mode, business casual, there’s some flamboyance, of course, but to me this is one of Pharrell’s more muted collections.
